History

First Women’s Bank of California

First established in 1976, GBC International Bank was first founded by local actresses and businesswomen as the First Women’s Bank of California. With a mission to eliminate discrimination on the basis of sex, the bank was able to make a difference in society and support women solve their financial problems.

Export-Import

In 1999, GBC was awarded a Delegated Authority Lender status by the Export-Import Bank of the United States and has kept that designation ever since. We are currently rated as one of the top in the nation as a High-level Delegated Authority.

Global Reach

In 1984, we adopted a new name - Guaranty Bank of California. In 2004, GBC was awarded Ex-Im Small Business Regional Bank of the Year for our impressive performance in helping small export-import businesses. We had been one of the most active Export Working Capital Lenders in the US.

International Bank

On August 1, 2007, the name GBC International Bank was adopted. The new name reflects the bank's long-standing expertise in handling international trade, commercial real estate financing, and business and personal banking services.

Exports and beyond

In 2008, GBC International Bank continues its effort to help small businesses by gaining a "Preferred Lender" status with the U.S Small Business Administration (SBA). This designation gives GBCIB the ability to streamline the procedures necessary to provide financial assistance to the small business community while expediting its process. GBC International Bank has since maintained its SBA's Preferred Lender status and won SBA Export Lender of the Year Award in 2016.
